Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed RN for a patient placement role in an acute care setting, requiring Cerner and TeleTracking experience and no direct patient care.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in the Bed Placement/Patient Placement department within an acute care environment
• Role has zero hands-on patient care and focuses on coordinating bed assignments across up to three hospitals
• Uses Cerner EMR and TeleTracking bed management system
• Shifts are 12 hours, three days per week, from 6:30am to 7:00pm
• Requires four weekend shifts within a four-week period
• No floating required
• No block scheduling; initial schedule assigned, future shifts are self-scheduled with adjustments for unit needs
• Casual professional dress or any color scrubs allowed
• Orientation includes one day of general hospital orientation and 3-5 days in department, potentially on any shift
• Primary responsibility is placing patients in appropriate units based on medical needs and available beds
• Works closely with charge nurses, hospital leadership, and uses multiple computer screens and applications throughout shifts
• No involvement in making recommendations, treatment plans, or diagnoses
• Lead and supervisor are available 24/7 for support
• Café is available onsite but closes at 2:30pm
• Free onsite parking and four hours of complimentary EV charging are available
• Team culture is described as busy and supportive
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be able to work holidays as needed; PTO not available for holiday shifts
• Limited to no RTO (requested time off) can be accommodated

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience required; one LTC contract acceptable but predominantly SNF experience will not be considered
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience and proficiency with Cerner EMR and TeleTracking bed management system required
• Strong computer skills with preferred experience using Zoom and Google applications
• Ability to distinguish between different care units (e.g., MedSurg vs Telemetry)
• Must be able to multitask and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Successful completion of the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, pass/fail with up to 2 attempts allowed; prior completed exam within last 12 months accepted
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, Dignity, or CHI facilities within the past year
• Must provide two professional references meeting specified criteria
