Billing & Coding Specialist: Accounts Receivable

If you're a meticulous problem solver committed to accuracy and efficiency, you could be a great fit for this full-time Billing & Coding: Accounts Receivable position with Monterey Spine & Joint! We're hiring a communicative person to join our Monterey, CA office and oversee our vital collections processes.

As for your schedule, you usually work from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday in office as we do not offer this role remote.

HOW YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE

In this billing and collections position, you help ensure our office is properly compensated for our services. You help keep our finances on track by processing payments, updating patient accounts, and following up on outstanding insurance claims. Accuracy is crucial as you manage our medical coding and ensure codes comply with billing regulations and established procedures.

You review insurance claims to verify accuracy, follow up on improper denials, and prepare appeal letters when necessary. Attentively, you ensure we have the latest insurance information on file and notify patients about outstanding deductibles. As needed, you send unpaid bills to collections. You submit claims, review reports, and work with management and other staff to help ensure we receive all the money we're owed!

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of experience in medical billing and ICD-10 codes
• 2-year college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge about local insurance plans
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office programs
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to consider multiple factors when solving problems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with patients, employees, and other organizations

Orthopedic experience or medical coding certification would be preferred.
