Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts and the ability to float to all Med/Tele units.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry units with 20-36 beds per unit
• Level 1 Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital environment
• Patient population includes med/surg and telemetry inpatients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:6
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with Phillips monitors
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Floating required to all Med/Surg and Telemetry units in-house
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Weekend and holiday coverage required, specifically around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Responsibilities include complex nursing care in a fast-paced environment with frequent collaboration with support staff
• Support provided by CNAs, charge nurses, unit secretaries, PICC team, and resource nurses
• Orientation includes 1 day of facility modules and 2 days on the unit
• Navy scrubs are required for RNs
• Free parking available on campus
• Busy, team-oriented unit culture

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active GA or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding
• ACLS certification preferred
• Proficiency in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use
• Experience with insulin and heparin drips; titration to heart rate, not blood pressure
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered
