JLGOV is seeking a professional and reliable Messenger Courier to support our federal government client’s daily logistical and mail services. This position is responsible for the secure pickup, transport, and delivery of classified and unclassified documents, packages, and materials between offices, agencies, and facilities across the National Capital Region (NCR). The selected candidate must demonstrate discretion, attention to detail, punctuality, and strict compliance with federal security protocols. Immediate hire 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and ad hoc courier runs, ensuring timely delivery of sensitive and routine materials to designated government locations.

• Maintain accurate logs of items received, transported, and delivered, using appropriate chain-of-custody protocols.

• Follow predetermined delivery routes and adjust in real-time to traffic or mission-related changes.

• Adhere to all federal regulations for transporting classified materials, including safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

• Coordinate with security personnel and agency representatives at delivery and pickup points to ensure proper transfer and acknowledgment of packages.

• Operate government-provided or approved vehicles in a safe, professional manner.

• Report vehicle maintenance issues, route deviations, or delivery challenges promptly to the supervisor.

• Maintain courier bags, locking containers, and related equipment in compliance with agency standards.

• Assist with general administrative tasks, including sorting mail, supporting office moves, and maintaining a stock of delivery forms and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• At least 2 years of courier or logistics experience, preferably within a federal or military environment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region.

• Familiarity with federal mail handling protocols, including USPS, FedEx, and internal classified pouch systems.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with agency personnel and security teams.

• Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds.

• U.S. Citizenship is required .

Security Clearance Requirement:

• Interim Secret Security Clearance at time of hire .

• Comply with federal security and confidentiality regulations.

• Clearance verification and background screening will be conducted before employment.
