The Manager of Events is responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania’s (GSEP) annual fundraising events, including Golf for Girl Scouts, Take the Lead Berks County, Take the Lead Greater Philadelphia, and Take the Lead Lehigh Valley. In partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Institutional Giving and Advocacy, and volunteer committees, the Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding event sponsorship revenue goals and oversees the event sponsorship portfolio. This role oversees and implements event logistics, including print and digital communications, event program development, event scripts, vendor management, and committee management. Internally, they work closely with the Mission Delivery and Marketing teams to achieve revenue goals.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience – 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Reliable transportation- travel within our 9-County footprint is required.
  • Presence at Headquarters and other service centers is necessary.
  • Computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced knowledge such as mail merges and experience working with databases.
  • Event planning and management experience
  • Ability to understand and monitor budgets and performance metrics.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability in planning, budget maintenance and management of high visibility events in council.
  • Experience planning and coordinating activities for large numbers of diverse participants.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience preparing written materials for use by the public.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills and ability to make effective presentations.
  • Ability to navigate over gravel and uneven paths.
  • Compelling communication and presentation skills including the ability to articulate the mission and goals of GSEP to the membership and to the community.
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills to inspire staff, volunteers and girls.
  • Solid customer service skills and the ability to take ownership and responsibility for all performance related goals.
  • Robust research skills.
  • Willing to work weekends and nights as necessary.
