Job Description:

Manages and maintains all aspects of agronomy for the golf course, property, and club house grounds.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and participate in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths
• Supervise and control all maintenance expenses associated with Golf Course operations
• Design, oversee and implement fertilization, pest and weed management programs
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, OSHA rules and regulations regarding shop safety and pesticide usage
• Monitor the course daily to determine proper playing conditions
• Provide technical, operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions
• Develop and maintain drainage, irrigation, pumping and water reservoir systems
• Communicate with golfers and club management about course conditions and playability
• Hire, supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Foreman, Greenskeepers, and other staff
• Order parts, supplies and equipment as needed

Bachelors degree (BS),Associates degree (AA) or equivalent form a four or two year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience. Degree preference in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil science.

Experience with Bent Grass is preferred
