Compensation: $21–$24 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a long-standing, owner-operated Italian scratch-kitchen restaurant entering a phase of steady growth and increased guest volume. The restaurant is seeking a hands-on General Manager who leads from the floor, takes ownership of daily operations, and works closely with ownership to drive consistency and long-term success.

This is not a desk-based GM role . The ideal candidate is a true restaurant operator, organized, steady, and execution-focused, who understands both front- and back-of-house flow. While occasional kitchen support may be needed, the primary focus is operational leadership, team stability, guest experience, and business growth .

This role is best suited for someone with a long-term mindset who values consistency, integrity, and teamwork, and who understands that sustainable success comes from disciplined execution, not shortcuts.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Serve as the working General Manager overseeing daily FOH and BOH operations
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, service standards, and guest experience
  • Lead from the floor during service with a calm, confident presence
  • Step in to support service or kitchen flow when needed

Business Growth & Performance

  • Help drive increased covers, average check growth, and repeat guest traffic
  • Support local marketing efforts, promotions, and community engagement
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, systems, and operational flow

People & Culture

  • Hire, train, coach, and retain a reliable, long-term team
  • Build accountability while maintaining a respectful, professional culture
  • Lead by example with strong work ethic, organization, and consistency

Scheduling & Organization

  • Manage scheduling, staffing coverage, and daily labor execution
  • Support ordering, basic inventory organization, and vendor coordination
  • Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and operational standards are consistently met

Ownership Collaboration

  • Work closely with ownership to strengthen structure and daily execution
  • Ownership will continue to handle billing and payroll

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager , or a strong Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef ready to step into a GM role
  • Background in scratch kitchens or chef-driven concepts preferred
  • Comfortable working 45–50 hours per week
  • Organized, steady, and calm under pressure
  • Business-minded with an ownership mentality
  • Long-term oriented; values stability and consistency
  • Mature leadership style; leads without ego
  • Experience in owner-operated restaurants strongly preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Compensation

  • $21–$24 per hour , based on experience and operational impact
  • Higher-end pay reserved for candidates who demonstrate strong leadership, consistency, and true ownership of the operation
