Job Description

Parallel Employment is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee compliance and promote best practices for a client in the Madison area.

The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of EHS regulations and a strong commitment to fostering a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for employees and maintain accurate training records.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS matters, both internally and externally.
  • Implement and oversee waste management and environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other local regulations.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insightful recommendations based on findings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
