PART-TIME POSITION: 2:30 PM-6:30 PM-Monday-Friday & Every Other Weekend
Summary: Maintains an efficient and effective Food and Nutrition Service Communications Center by coordinating intra- and inter-department communications.
Responsibilities: Performs all data entry computer functions for patients and residents, including but not limited to diet information, new admissions, discharges, diet changes, food preferences, allergies and menu selections, accurately and in a timely manner. Processes patient diet orders. Collects, prints and organizes patient menus. Enters patient menu selections for next day meal service. Prints and organizes tray tickets, produces tallies, dining room menus and snack and nourishments sheets for each meal service according to schedule. Enters nourishment and snack data in a timely manner daily and informs the Director and Clinical Nutrition Manager of any late issues. Assures that all late patient food requests are processed within 20 minutes of receipt. Processes all patient food requests as received. Pages Diet Aides, Hostesses, Supervisors to deliver patient requests as needed. Assures that all late ticket requests are delivered by Diet Aides and Hostesses within 20 minute time limit. Informs Managers, Director and Clinical of any late delivery issues. Call the units to inform them of any late tray issues. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for preparing and delivering and picking up trays or patients, communicating pertinent information regarding menu preferences, delivering nourishment, taking inventory of floor supplies and re-supplying them to a par level. Works as a team member with the patient/patient's family, nursing, and food service support to maximize patient meal satisfaction. Practices exceptional customer service at all times. Serves as primary liaison between patients and food service operations.
REQUIREMENTS : Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School Diploma, GED equivalent or High School certificate. 1-3 years of experience. Prior food service experience is preferred.
