The candidate must sit in the Bay area as there will be an onsite component relating to a public event.

Summary

We are seeking an Associate Creative Director Art Director for a ~2-3 month contract position to focus on social-first content. The ideal candidate is someone who can work proactively and autonomously (in partnership with a writer) to concept, produce, and deliver work with a high attention to detail and under time constraints. They will work across many projects simultaneously, exploring possibilities, proposing social-first concepts, and iterating quickly based on feedback. The candidate should be able to convey complex technical concepts as well as simple, consumer-focused ideas.

This person must be comfortable with a fluid schedule, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with a cross-functional team of creatives, content professionals, production partners, and key stakeholders.

You must have a high level of social-first craft, including UGC storytelling and awareness of social templates & elements. The ideal candidate is a conceptual thinker, attuned to social trends and culture, and a strategic problem solver.

Required Skills

• Ability to translate complex subjects into engaging social content
• Autonomous project management and execution
• Conceptualize, art direct, and produce social-first ideas, focusing on in-product experiences and short videos using formats like Stories, Reels, IG, FB, WhatsApp
• Communicate innovative ideas clearly to stakeholders across product, marketing, and communications
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams including writers, designers, editors, and leaders
• Passion for design and art direction
• Location in SF Bay, with ability to work onsite as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in an ad agency or in-house role, concepting and art directing for brands and products
• Experience with social media platforms
• Proven ability to simplify complex topics into entertaining social concepts
• Experience in designing, art directing, and articulating design decisions
• Proficiency with creative software (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience with self-initiated projects
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Thrives in fast-paced, quick-turn environments
• Experience in product storytelling and strategy
• Detail-oriented with a maker mindset
• Collaborative experience with cross-functional teams

Experience in tech is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range is $90.00 - $135.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, and PTO. Eligibility depends on employment classification.
