Job Description
Amazon is looking for a Communications Coordinator to join its Books & Publishing team supporting our in-house book publisher, Amazon Publishing. This role, which can be based in Seattle, WA, or Arlington, VA, will support title publicity campaigns for new releases across multiple imprints as well as proactive storytelling and strategic communications for Amazon Publishing.
Key job responsibilities
-\tLead title publicity campaigns for book releases, including pitching media, developing influencer strategies, and providing support to authors.
-\tSupport and liaise with agencies providing publicity support for book releases.
-\tDevelop and support proactive storytelling ideas for Amazon Publishing initiatives and spokespeople.
-\tCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on campaigns and Amazon Publishing storytelling.
-\tAdvise stakeholders on news-making opportunities and media strategies.
-\tWrite and execute communications plans.
-\tDevelop and write press releases, media pitches, and owned channels content.
-\tBuild relationships with reporters from key media outlets.
-\tAdvise on reactive media inquiries and issues related to areas of ownership.
-\tIdentify and execute efficiencies in day-to-day processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years recent professional communications or public relations experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working directly with media.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to drive progress and earn trust while working with multiple stakeholders.
- Creative and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Solid judgment, particularly in narrow time frames.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $51,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $110,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
