About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO) to lead the strategic elevation of its mission, research, and academic contributions. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to social justice, inclusion, equity, and belonging. As part of the executive leadership team, the CCMO will be responsible for developing and implementing creative communication and marketing strategies to expand the global reach and visibility of the organization. This role involves leading a high-performing team, overseeing communication strategy and execution, crisis management, media relations, and engagement campaigns. The CCMO will also be at the forefront of internal and external stakeholder communications, including the management of diverse and unique audiences, and will play a key role in the publication of scholarly work and the development of digital and social media strategies. The ideal candidate for the CCMO position at the company will have a proven track record in interdisciplinary marketing and communications, with a focus on mission-driven organizations. They should possess exceptional strategic thinking, team-building, and relationship management skills, and be adept at managing diverse requests from various stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree in a relevant field preferred. Experience in a university or academic environment is helpful. The CCMO must be able to manage multiple programs simultaneously, handle confidential materials with discretion, and demonstrate strong leadership, persuasion, negotiation, and fiscal management skills. The role demands a leader who can ensure that the organization is recognized as a thought leader and who is dedicated to the long-term vision and goals of the institution.
