Located in Charleston, South Carolina, we provide individualized, comprehensive, year-round programming for children with disabilities through our charter school, summer camp, therapy services, and early intervention services. Our collaborative model places the child at the center of care and surrounds them with a multidisciplinary team of specialized providers, ensuring that all children’s needs are addressed with compassion and expertise. By consolidating their care network, we provide a one-stop destination with the tools necessary for children with disabilities and their families to thrive. Job Summary The Principal is instrumental in advancing the mission of Pattison's Academy in Charleston, SC. Reporting to the Chief Programming Officer, this individual not only fosters a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration within the organization but also acts as an ambassador in liaising with Board leadership. As an essential component of the leadership team, the Principal ensures that educational services are seamlessly integrated into Pattison's Academy's overarching objectives and strategic plan. Additionally, this role drives the direction of our charter school model, ensuring every child receives the highest quality of care and support as part of Pattison’s Academy's holistic and integrated system of care. Qualifications Master's degree in educational leadership. Valid SC teaching certificate. Relevant experience in special education. SC Principal certification preferred. Responsibilities The Principal’s duties, though not exhaustive, comprise the following: Oversee daily operations to ensure the success of the Charter School program. Act as a liaison to key stakeholders including Charleston County School District, external vendors, community partners, and Pattison’s families. Supervise and lead an interdisciplinary department comprised of special education teachers, teacher assistants, and other school support professionals. Oversee the development and implementation of a curriculum that meets the unique needs of students with disabilities, while using data to inform instructional practices. Balance multiple workflows, including both program management and strategic development. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies’ requirements, including those related to special education laws and policies. Create, strategize, and implement advancement plans for the continued growth and expansion of Pattison’s Academy Charter School. Oversee financial strategy of Pattison’s Academy Charter School including budget management and resource allocation. Serve as a driving member of Pattison’s interdisciplinary culture that models collaboration between all of Pattison’s programs. Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and support Pattison’s organization-wide strategic plan. Perform other related duties as assigned.
