Salary: $35,000/year

Dogwood Media Solutions is a fast-growing marketing agency based in the Montgomery, Alabama area. We are looking to add a new WordPress developer to our team to work under and learn from our Director of Technology. Our development team currently has 5 other developers on it, four focused on Drupal, and one other in WordPress. This position will bring us to 6. 

While previous experience in developing WordPress and specifically Elementor would separate you from the crowd, we do understand that this is an entry-level position. Tell us why we should hire you and invest our time and resources into teaching you to develop WordPress. 

This is an in-office position in Pike Road, Alabama, a suburb of Montgomery, Alabama. No relocation assistance is available. Remote work will not be considered.

Web Developer Job Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for taking a design from our designers and bringing it to life on WordPress using Elementor. Some coding will be required along with an eye for design. You will be responsible for loading content and making sure it makes sense for users who visit the page. Learning SEO best practices and Accessibility practices will be taught. 

Web Developer Job Duties:

• Interpreting web designs delivered by designers in Figma
• Taking direction from other developers, and managers
• Receiving constructive feedback from clients and acting upon it
• Ability to block out distractions and dig in when needed
  
• Managing plugin and theme updates across all of our servers
• The position requires constant communication with colleagues. This is an in-office position in Pike Road, Alabama.

On those rare perfect Fall and Spring days we roll up the garage door and let fresh air circulate throughout the office. The unofficial team walk takes place twice daily to help break up the day and get away from the computer monitors.

We also promote our team member’s professional development if they choose to pursue additional work-related education or learning opportunities. Examples have included our Drupal developers recently attending DrupalCon in Portland, Oregon, our videographer taking a class on storytelling, and our graphic designer taking a class on designing for the user experience. 

We offer competitive compensation with paid health, dental, and vision for the employee. 3% match on 401k, and a $75,000 group life policy paid for by the company. If you don't need insurance, a supplement equal to what we normally pay for insurance is provided to offset the cost of paying for your insurance somewhere else.
