Job Description

Automotive Warehouse Supervisor - Rotating Shifts Long Term Contract Bollingbrook, IL $25-37/hr (hourly rate is based on years of work experience) plus OT Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor oversees a team of union-represented employees to achieve departmental goals related to safety, quality, productivity, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for ensuring work is performed safely, in compliance with established processes, and at the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and support hourly employees, addressing their needs and concerns as required. Recognize and commend positive performance; address and discourage negative performance behaviors. Utilize problem-solving processes to address concerns and engage the workforce for continuous improvement ideas. Apply the Workplace Organization (WPO) process to enhance facility layouts and operational efficiency. Perform daily updates in the Timekeeping System (TKS) for accurate payroll processing. Use structured reporting formats to document problem-solving activities in accordance with local guidelines. Conduct daily meetings to communicate business performance and foster two-way discussions with employees. Complete and document weekly safety observation tours of departments. Plan and balance daily workloads for efficiency and effectiveness. Support colleagues to optimize overall shift performance. Ensure compliance with contractual, national, and local requirements. Enforce all shop rules and safety protocols. Perform daily audits to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Participate in professional development through an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Keep management apprised of all pending activities within the shop. Skills and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. Proficiency in basic mathematics. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of the technology relevant to the assigned area. Familiarity with scheduling and management systems. Advanced analytical abilities to address and resolve complex problems. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate team members, and drive results. Knowledge of quality control procedures. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of at least 12 years of technical or business school training preferred. Training in a skilled trades area or equivalent technical training is highly desirable. 10+ years of relevant experience required.
