Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support two 4th grade students in an elementary school setting. This contract position spans the full school year with standard hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing clear and accurate interpretation services in American Sign Language (ASL) for academic instruction and school activities
• Facilitating communication for one student with a cochlear implant, ensuring accessibility and inclusion
• Collaborating effectively with teachers and staff to support students' learning and participation
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions within the school environment

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and thorough knowledge of interpreting techniques
• Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting
• Familiarity with communication needs of students with hearing impairments, including cochlear implant users
