What you'll do.

As a Technical Help Content Writer at Jackrabbit Technologies, you will transform product user stories and specifications into high-quality help documentation that empowers our customers. Your work will evolve alongside our products and services, ensuring our end users can easily understand and maximize the value of our offerings. Using our help authoring tool, KnowledgeOwl, you will create and edit clear, concise, and visually engaging documentation that supports customer success.

As a Technical Help Content Writer, you will:

  • Create easy-to-understand help documentation that conveys the value to the user by blending text with visuals such as images, tables, etc., in a user-friendly voice.
  • Participate in product sprints and release planning to stay informed about updates and ensure that help content aligns with evolving features and functionalities.
  • Analyze and interpret complex technical requirement documentation to create concise, easy-to-understand help materials tailored for end users.
  • Create content that adheres to established brand and content standard guidelines.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to extract critical insights about target audiences, product features, use cases, and workflows, ensuring help content meets their needs.
  • Use Jackrabbit test databases to ensure instructional content aligns with system functionality.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in response to product updates and feature enhancements.
  • Collaborate with teammates on content standards, priorities, and delivery options to end users.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of product design and logic to create effective materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Review technical product documentation and explore in-app settings and workflows to ensure content accurately reflects real-world user scenarios.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge base taxonomy using tags, search phrases, and metadata to improve user search.
  • Use help authoring tool insights to analyze user behavior and optimize help content delivery.
  • Respond to feedback from internal and external users, updating content as needed to address concerns or improve clarity.
  • Stay informed about updates to KnowledgeOwl and implement enhancements to improve internal workflows and user experiences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude toward feedback and a willingness to revise content as needed.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools such as Aha! and Jira.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

These qualifications are a plus:

  • Experience working in a SaaS company.
  • Experience with Jackrabbit Technologies software.
  • Experience with help authoring tools, specifically KnowledgeOwl.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS.
