Salary: $25.00 - $29.00/hour DOE

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Ascendigo Lake Manager (LM) oversees the wake sports component of our summer camp programming. The LM supervises the lake team (two to four Lake Specialists) which includes but is not limited to assigning tasks, delegating responsibilities, coordinating logistics, overcoming interpersonal conflicts, etc. The LM must constantly monitor the lake site to ensure the safety of campers and staff alike. A typical day on the Lake Team includes loading and transporting gear to the lake site, ensuring the lake program is running safely and efficiently, teaching skill progression in wake sports, cleaning up the lake site, returning to town, and storing the gear. The LM works in proximity with our campers and may need to assist with behavior prevention & mitigation and activities of daily living such as toileting and hygiene.

TASKS

  • Work directly with clients who have challenging behaviors that may include physical aggression toward others
  • Act as direct support to someone with autism through a full day of outdoor recreational
  • Work in an outdoor environment requires situational awareness and quick
  • Collaborates with Ascendigo Coaches and Interns to create sport lessons plans and goals that meet the clients needs.
  • Act as a teacher and advocate for clients
  • Accompany clients and teach clients in skill acquisition, and behavior reduction in social, community, recreation, leisure, and other program settings
  • Build a positive rapport with clients and facilitate FUN!
  • Oversee client well-being and safety in a camp and lake setting
  • Work positively as a team with all Ascendigo staff members
  • Attend client and staff meetings and training as necessary
  • Communicate with staff effectively
  • Manage a team of employees
  • Manage a group of 6-8 participants and staff while on a boat
  • Analyze and monitor lake sites for risk and mitigate risk
  • Proficient in driving speed boats
  • Proficient in towing athletes (wake surfers, wake boarders, water skiers, tubers)
  • Able to tow loaded boat trailers on the highways
  • Boat mechanical knowledge preferred

IN ADDITION

  • Must be 21 or over and have legal working status
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license and excellent driving record
  • Must have a clean background check with no felonies or flags
  • Must provide a current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must maintain a current Lifeguard Certification
  • High school diploma required
  • Applicants are required to have and use their own phone for work duties
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, social media)
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 pounds)
