Entry Level Staff Accountant (Staff Accountant I/II/III) - Information for Staff Accountant I Shown Below. (Position 1)

JOB SUMMARY

HKA has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Staff Accountant (Staff Accountant I). As a Staff Accountant you will have the opportunity to gain experience in various areas of accounting ranging from Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Cost/Project Accounting and other areas.

The Staff Accountant will also have the opportunity to be involved in Government Contracting, Proposal Preparation, Human Resource Support, and other nonaccounting activities.

SIGNIFICANT DUTIES

  • Perform a wide variety of accounting duties including but not limited to account payables, account receivables, collections, and Payroll.
  • Ensure the accuracy and proper pay wage for payroll. This includes preparing and reviewing employee time sheets for proper accounting coding.
  • Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Perform a variety of account receivables, understanding the different types of billing formats, keeping track of direct job expenses and direct labor, and ensuring the accuracy of invoices.
  • Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects.
  • Perform a wide variety of office duties including but not limited to letter writing, report processing, proposal processing, and handling all incoming and outgoing mail; follow up on special projects and assignments and keep informed of status of projects.
  • Attend a variety of meetings.
  • Answer phones, take messages, perform e-mails both incoming and outgoing, and file e-mails in the appropriate files.
  • Operate a variety of office equipment including copiers and computers.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with vendors, couriers, and services providers to HKA.
  • Other duties or projects, as required or assigned.
  • Make deliveries, process office supply orders, pick-up of orders, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to apply FAR Part 31 Contract Cost Principals and Procedures.
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks accounting software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 0 – 2 Years of Experience.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $24.00 – $35.00 for Entry Level Staff Accountant (Staff Accountant I)

$24.00 - $50.00 per hour (Staff Accountant I/II/III Range); Based upon Years of Experience.

Staff Accountant Supervisor - Senior Accountant (Position 2)

JOB SUMMARY

HKA has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant Supervisor. As a Staff Accountant you will have the opportunity to gain experience in various areas of accounting ranging from Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Cost/Project Accounting and other areas.

Pay Range: $35.00 – $60.00 for Staff Accountant Supervisor; Based upon Years of Experience.
