Must-haves:
Bachelor of Science degree in System Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
16+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of System Safety engineering principles and practices for military application
Advanced knowledge Software Safety engineering principles and practices
Advanced knowledge of safety critical systems
Advanced knowledge of system and subsystem risk evaluation and analyses
Demonstrated knowledge and application of MIL-STD-882E
Advanced knowledge and application of the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH)
Experience with Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA)
Experience evaluating software contribution and level of rigor (LOR)
Experience participating in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary team
Experience planning and overseeing execution of system and software safety development efforts
Strong organization skills and work ethic
Preferred:
Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Knowledge of Static/Dynamic code analyses and tools
Knowledge of US Navy/NAVAIR/ guidance
Knowledge of Design Assurance and Agile development
Familiarity with bi-directional traceability
Familiarity with software development processes
Familiarity with Verification, Validation, and Quality Assurance
Background in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry
Progressive experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
Ability to establish and track key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $166,676 to $208,346.22. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
