Job Description

White Birch Educational Services is looking for Special Education teachers to grow our team. White Birch is a women clinician-owned and operated small business based in New Hampshire. We partner with school districts to provide comprehensive support to children through services such as school psychology, mental health and social work, behavior analysis (BCBAs), speech-language pathology, special education, paraprofessional support, and other related services.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Special Education Teacher works with students who have disabilities, adapting curriculum and providing individualized instruction to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations under applicable law may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform these essential functions.

  1. Provides case management with direct services to students with IEPs.
  2. Provides direction and supervision of paraprofessionals as directed.
  3. Collaborates with teachers, parents, and caregivers.
  4. Teaches essential life skills such as social, communication, self-care.
  5. Manages student behavior and social interactions in and outside of classroom areas.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s degree required.

  1. Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, two to five years preferred.
  2. Computer Skills: the minimum amount of computer skills necessary. List preferred skills, if desired.
  3. Certificates & Licenses: Valid NH licenses and certifications required.
  4. Excellent communication, collaboration, and communication skills.
  5. Compassionate and committed to students’ well-being.
  6. Must align with core values of honest, ethical, ability, respect and responsibility, transparency, and treat others the way they expect to be treated.
