This is a full-time field position with 5 days/week surveying and servicing rooftop/ground mounted solar (PV) systems.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Solar Technician with a minimum of two years' solar experience to join our team. This position is responsible for the professional installation of solar energy systems for residential and commercial clients. This position will also have a focus on providing site surveys, troubleshooting, and servicing of existing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical work, solar panel installation, and system maintenance, with an understanding of renewable energy technologies and safety standards.

• You'll be working as a part of an experienced team to deliver sustainable, environmentally friendly solar energy solutions to homes and businesses throughout all of Maryland.
• Successful candidates will be trained on the latest solar (PV) technologies (we are willing to work with and train the right candidate).
• You'll need to be a detail-oriented person to handle the complexity of our solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Pay for this position is hourly with the ability to earn overtime. The opportunity to increase your income will be based on how successful you are in the field. We are a growing business with new roles being carved out each year.

Typical Duties

As a Solar Technician, successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Electrical Work: Perform electrical connections, wiring, and installation of solar panels, inverters and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve system issues, perform routine maintenance, and provide solutions to ensure systems operate properly.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and ensure the safe installation of all solar equipment.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with project manager, electricians, and other team members to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.

Non-Technical Skills/Traits Required

• Speaks English
• Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the past 2 years
• Candidates must pass a criminal background check – No felonies or violent misdemeanors allowed
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. and work in challenging outdoor weather and environments
• Comfortable with heights and roof work
• Good communication and works well with other team members
