About the Role Support current and future General Dynamics Land Systems vehicles and develop new products and/or improve existing applications for GDLS and US Army customers. Work with a creative group of software engineers in designing, testing, and deployment of mobile apps used to input vehicle condition, retrieve data from various databases, display vehicle health/part failure predictions, and vehicle software integration. Educational Assistance. 9-80 Work Schedule (This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees to work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off). Responsibilities Support current and future GDLS vehicles and develop new products or improve existing applications for GDLS and US Army customers. Collaborate with software engineers in designing, testing, and deploying mobile apps for vehicle condition input, data retrieval, health/part failure prediction, and software integration. Research emerging technologies to enhance existing products. Demonstrate applications to live audiences. Travel to support customer launches, updates, troubleshooting, etc. Vehicle software integration. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in mobile app development (iOS, Android, Windows), including multi-platform development with UWP and Xamarin. Platform software integration, vehicle or similar experience. Application porting across operating systems. Proficiency in Python (Python 3, Pip, pylibpcap). Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (C#, Java, C++, etc.) and web development (HTML, CSS, XSLT, JavaScript). Experience with Linux (RHEL-based), Bash/Terminal, Yum, Vim, SSH, SFTP. Database experience: MySQL, Oracle DB, InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, data warehouse design. Tools: Putty, Wireshark, GCC, OpenSSL, dashboards, analytics. Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet data transmission. Experience with Windows and Linux/UNIX operating systems and development environments. Data Science, Advanced Data Analytics, AI/ML knowledge. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Additional Information / Desired Experience Relevant work and project experience with a strong GPA indicating high competency and passion. Ability to adhere to strict project schedules and high-quality standards. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to document processes, software, and source code thoroughly. Willingness to travel, sometimes for multi-week periods, to support products and customers.
