Department Sales Lead Job Responsibilities:

• Greets customers and demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Helps customers select products, answers questions, and shares product knowledge.
• Answers phone calls.
• Ensures proper merchandise presentation is maintained in accordance with company merchandising standards.
• Writes weekly replenishment orders, in cooperation with the Buyer.
• Checks in replenishment orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Performs physical price changes as directed.
• Responsible for limiting shortage through personal awareness.
• Performs twice yearly cycle counts, in cooperation with Operations Manager.
• Processes sales transactions and returns, as needed, to assist cashier team.
• Performing opening and closing duties as needed.

This position’s primary focus is on growing sales and merchandising standards within the department. Team members are expected to maintain enthusiastic customer service and sales floor presence that encourages customers to return. Time off the sales floor will be minimal.

Department Sales Lead Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Learns about new product offerings quickly.
• Collaborates well with the retail team and has strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with pet nutrition is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of stocking and merchandising, including bending, squatting, lifting up to 50lbs.
• Basic computer skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old and available 36-40 hours/week.
