We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake & Power BI Developer to support data initiatives within the capital markets division of a leading financial services firm. This role requires someone who can interface directly with business partners (including traders) and operate independently to drive solutions from inception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize Snowflake-based data pipelines and models for large-scale financial datasets
- Develop interactive and insightful dashboards using Power BI to support trading and risk functions
- Work directly with traders and other business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide data insights, and deliver reports
- Ensure data quality, performance tuning, and scalability of solutions
- Act as a self-starter and take ownership of initiatives with minimal supervision
- Translate complex business needs into technical specifications and actionable data solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business SMEs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake – including data modeling, SQL performance optimization, and security features
- Solid experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports with complex calculations and data visualizations
- Excellent communication skills – must be comfortable working directly with business users (especially traders)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with banking, capital markets, or trading systems is highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of financial products such as equities, derivatives, or fixed income
- Experience integrating Snowflake with other tools/platforms (e.g., Python, Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Understanding of regulatory reporting or risk data frameworks in financial institutions
