Salary: $175,000 - $275,000 per year
A bit about us: DeFi startup backed by Coinbase Ventures and a few other top investors is looking for a Backend Engineer to join their growing team! They are partnered with some of the biggest names in the crypto space and serves as a core contributor to a Layer 1 liquidity aggregator and a mobile trading app with over 500,000 active users. In this role, you'll develop real-time backend services that drive their production software.

Job Details Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services to power real-time trading applications.
- Build APIs and microservices using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Optimize system performance with SQL, Redis, and MySQL.
- Develop high-performance solutions using a compiled language such as C++, C, or Rust.
- Ensure scalability and reliability of cloud-based systems using AWS.
- Collaborate with product teams to align backend functionality with user needs.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps best practices.
Requirements
- BS in CS, Engineering, or equivalent. The team has a strong track record of success with folks coming from institutions such as Berkeley, MIT, CMU, Stanford, Northwestern, UChicago, and UIUC.
- 4-10+ years of software engineering experience in a production environment
- Related industry experience in HFT, quant, fintech, or crypto. Open to candidates from SaaS or general startup backgrounds who have a keen interest in DeFi and blockchain technology.
- Backend experience (TypeScript, Python, Node, or similar) AND at least one compiled language (Rust, C++, Go, or C)
Experienced with building RESTful APIs, Microservices, and
- Experience with Redis, MySQL, and AWS
- Strong system and software design skills, including the ability to reason about technical tradeoffs of different architectural approaches
- Understanding of networking protocols and frameworks including TCP, UDP, WebSockets, Protocol Buffers, and gRPC
Bonus Qualifications
- Solana or Ethereum ecosystem experience , including leaders, shreds, transaction structures (e.g. list of instructions within a transaction), and Jito bundles
