Farmers’ Rice Cooperative is seeking an experienced Quality and Food Safety Manager to lead food safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives across our operations in West Sacramento and Woodland, CA. This role is critical in maintaining regulatory compliance, upholding our certifications, and driving best-in-class quality and food safety practices.Key Responsibilities🧪 Food Safety & Certification Compliance
· Develop and execute SQF plans to achieve and maintain SQF Level 2 Certification
· Maintain systems ensuring the facility complies with SQF System requirements
· Train employees on food safety and quality protocols; maintain training records
· Oversee monitoring, verification, and validation of food safety systems
📋 Food Safety and Quality Programs· Conduct Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits
· Maintain all food safety documentation and reporting
· Submit and follow through on corrective action plans
· Maintain current HACCP and SQF Practitioner certifications
· Partner with sales and operations on food safety management
· Stay updated on food safety trends and regulatory changes
· Report concerns and solutions to senior leadership
🔧 Continuous Improvement Leadership· Lead teams to improve processes, systems, and procedures
· Coach teams on accountability, problem-solving, and communication
· Respond to crisis and non-routine situations with appropriate action
· Perform root cause analysis and corrective measures
What We’re Looking For· Bachelor’s degree required
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
· Current HACCP and SQF Practitioner certifications (or ability to obtain/renew)
· Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and documentation
· Proven leadership and team coaching skills
· Excellent communication, reporting, and analytical abilities
· Must have a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record
Work Conditions· Regularly lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
· Climb ladders, access confined spaces, and work at heights
· Tolerate varied environments including extreme heat or cold
· Navigate exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, or vibration
