We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide medical services to patients living in long-term care facilities. We are looking for a nurse practitioner who has experience working with long term patients. The perfect candidate is well rounded in knowledge, experience and filled with a positive personality. The candidate must be able to work well individually as well as in a team. We are looking for someone who has a sincere passion about providing the appropriate health services and giving the best care possible. Please read below to see some of the responsibilities of a NP.

Nurse Practitioner Job Duties:

• Provide primary and preventative care for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities with a focus on patients with mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
  
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and PTSD etc.
  
• Evaluate and manage residents with acute change in condition in a timely manner.
  
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with state laws and patient diagnosis.
  

REQUIRED Licensures/Certificates:

• NP NY Medical License
  
• DEA Certificate
  
• Malpractice Certificate- Must be Active
  
• 2 years of psych NP experience
  

Looking For a Candidate that has:

• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
  
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
