This posiiton is responsible for recruitment and admission of prospective students to the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute’s ( NFCI ) Culinary, Baking and Pastry and Hospitality programs located in Niagara Falls, NY. Recruitment is performed through high school visits, outreach efforts and partnerships with community-based organizations. This position will represent the college at recruitment events and conferences, guide prospective students through the admissions process, and provide information about academic programs, financial aid, and campus life. This position will work collaboratively with the NFCI’s Program Coordinators and Campus Manager on events and action demonstrations, at the direction of the Admissions Director. This position will compile regular reports of recruitment efforts. Weekend and evening hours may be required.   1. Plan & implement recruitment activities for students from all backgrounds to include high school visits, business & industry, community-based organizations and other markets as assigned by supervisor.
  2. Plan & implement recruitment activities such as Open House, career days, tours, Shadow Days and in-house field trips.
  3. Assist prospective students with the admissions and financial aid processes.
  4. Establish, develop and maintain relationships with new and existing academic programs to included high schools and career centers represented by ProStart/ Skills USA and ACF accreditation.
  5. Strengthen and maintain relationships with local high schools and BOCES programs and initiate new relationships with schools across the region that have a culinary, baking or hospitality program.
  6. Attend college fairs, parent nights, SUNY recruitment functions, and other recruitment-oriented activities and events as needed.
  7. Attend recruitment conferences such as NACAC and Consortium.
  8. Assist with campus-based recruitment & marketing activities and events & campus tours.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of a recruitment strategy at NFCI to achieve established enrollment targets.
  10. Utilize the CRM and student information system to process student information, maintain records and prepare reports
  11. Prepare and provide admission presentations and chef action demonstrations to groups both on and off campus.
  12. Prepare and order food and appropriate supplies for off premise chef demonstrations and in-house catering related to recruitment events.
  13. Collaborate with NFCI Program Coordinators to develop and execute appropriate action demonstrations.
  14. Serve on college committees as requested
  15. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

Required Qualifications Associates Degree in Culinary Arts or Baking & Pastry Arts 1 year of Industry Experience as a Chef / Cook or Pastry Chef / Pastry Cook Bachelor’s Degree Work experience that includes preparing and making presentations to groups Desirable Qualifications Master’s Degree in Student Personnel Administration/Higher Education or related field; Serv-Safe Sanitation Certification; Certified through the American Culinary Federation; Experience in college admissions and/or recruitment of underrepresented students; One year full-time or equivalent part-time working with underrepresented populations within urban areas seeking education and training; Experience with Slate CRM and Banner student information system; Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Publisher.
