Located in Muskegon, Michigan, Muskegon Surgical Associates, PC is recruiting for a full time Medical Coder. Muskegon Surgical Associates has been providing surgical care to West Michigan since 1972. We are an independently owned multi-specialty practice consisting of 14 surgeons and 110 employees. Muskegon Surgical Associates provides quality health services for patients in West Michigan and is made up of numerous areas of surgical expertise including General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Hand Surgery. In addition, we have a complete Vascular Lab, Office Based Lab, Occupational Therapy services, Medical Spa, and Ambulatory Surgery Center. Muskegon Surgical Associates is recruiting for a full time, Medical Coder (local candidates in Michigan only). Upon the successful training period in office, the position will be a remote position. We are seeking an experienced, flexible, dependable, customer service-oriented individual who has the ability to work well under pressure. The Medical Coder will accurately assign and sequence procedure and diagnosis codes for insurance reimbursement for office and surgical visits. Collaboration will take both concurrently and retrospectively with physicians to ensure appropriate documentation supports the diagnosis and procedures to promote provider/patient continuity, accurate database information, optimize reimbursements, and ensure compliance with established coding guidelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a medical coder Certified Professional Coder required with 1 year in surgical specialty Benefits: Retirement Plan Health insurance, three medical plans offered.
