An optometric technician works with the optometrist to ensure everything in the eye care practice runs smoothly. From conducting preliminary eye exams to gathering patient medical histories, these multitasking maestros are the backbone of the practice. They assist the optometrist in performing diagnostic tests, such as measuring visual acuity and depth perception and preparing patients for further examinations. Additionally, they may educate patients on contact lens insertion and removal and maintain and sterilize equipment. With their exceptional organizational skills and compassionate patient care, optometric technicians are crucial in providing top-notch eye care.
