Job Summary:
United Rentals is the worlds largest equipment rental provider, offering great opportunities for career growth. The Data & Analytics Analyst will prepare and interpret analyses to drive decision making in the Finance organization, utilizing SQL and Tableau to visualize data and streamline reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate the use of analytics, visualization, and data modeling to drive improved decision making.
Utilize SQL to model data sources into analysis ready data sets.
Query and analyze data using Tableau, review data for production systems.
Rapid Tableau dashboard prototyping and working with IT to develop enterprise-grade capability.
Build strong relationships across the finance organization, bringing ideas forward that operationalize insights into decision making.
Partner with multiple finance departments to identify areas where data is underutilized and create action plans that capitalize on data use.
Point of contact for Data & Analytics questions for Finance organization including but not limited to FP&A, Credit, Treasury, Tax and Internal Audit.
Support exploration and data testing to ensure stated goals are supported.
Works with leads to identify risk associated with data.
Works with business leads to gather requirements, scope and phase work that provides guidance on short term and long term feasibility.
Conducts final user acceptance testing with department leads.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research or Analytical/Quantitative Methods
2+ years in system support or business analyst role
Ability to write unaided optimized SQL queries and stored procedures
Proficient in Excel
Understanding of P&Ls, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow, and similar financial metrics
Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with business leads
Strong business acumen
Analytical and problem solving skills with knowledge of technology tools that support this work
Preferred:
Business Intelligence system administration is preferred
Python skill is a plus
