The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees. This includes overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures across all departments.


Key Responsibilities:




  1. Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Develop, update, and implement safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  2. Training and Education: Conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing training sessions. Ensure all employees receive appropriate training on safety procedures, equipment usage, and hazard recognition.
  3. OSHA Compliance: Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures. Maintain detailed records of incidents and corrective actions taken.
  5. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and communication strategies. Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of these plans.
  6. Safety Equipment and PPE: Evaluate the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment, and ensure proper selection, use, and maintenance of such equipment.
  7. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential safety hazards and develop strategies for mitigating risks.
  8. Communication and Training: Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to all employees and stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to departmental safety coordinators or committees.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30-hour General Industry Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, as well as work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Additional Requirements:


  • Must be able to travel occasionally to different work sites.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties that may require physical exertion.
  • Availability to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours, as needed.

  6. Equipo de seguridad y PPE: Evaluar la necesidad de equipo de proteccin personal (PPE) y equipo de seguridad, y garantizar la seleccin, el uso y el mantenimiento adecuados de dicho equipo.
  7. Evaluacin de riesgos: realizar evaluaciones de riesgos y anlisis de peligros laborales para identificar posibles peligros de seguridad y desarrollar estrategias para mitigar los riesgos.

Calificaciones:


  • Licenciatura en Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo, Ciencias Ambientales o afines.
  • Certificacin de Industria General de 30 horas de OSHA.
  • Experiencia mnima de 5 aos en gestin de seguridad y salud en el trabajo.
  • Fuerte conocimiento de las regulaciones de OSHA y los estndares de la industria.
  • Excelente comunicacin y habilidades interpersonales.
  • Capacidad para liderar y motivar equipos, as como trabajar de forma independiente.
  • Dominio de Microsoft Office Suite y otras aplicaciones de software relevantes.

  • Debe poder viajar ocasionalmente a diferentes sitios de trabajo.
