Snapshot / Role Overview

We're seeking an HVAC Assistant Project Manager in Sioux Falls, SD to support commercial HVAC construction projects and develop project management skills.

Impact

- Support successful delivery of commercial HVAC projects from start to finish
- Ensure accurate project documentation and communication flow
- Help maintain project schedules and budgets through proactive coordination
- Build strong relationships with field teams and project stakeholders
- Learn and develop project management skills for career advancement

Responsibilities

- Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and administration
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and equipment cut sheets for completeness
- Track and process RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment schedules with suppliers
- Monitor project schedules and update progress in project management software
- Conduct site visits to track progress and document field conditions
- Prepare meeting minutes, reports, and project documentation
- Support procurement activities including bid requests and purchase orders
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on project requirements
- Maintain organized project files and closeout documentation

Requirements

Must-Haves

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, OR 2+ years of HVAC construction experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications
- Valid driver's license

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience with project management or estimating software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Internship or co-op experience in mechanical construction
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment
