1. Project Planning Coordination
Review job plans “permits”, prints, and request locate tickets and white line before each
project.
Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and utility locators to confirm bore paths
and work zones.
Schedule daily activities and ensure all materials, permits, and equipment are ready
before mobilization.
Attend pre-construction and coordination meetings with clients or general contractors.
ALL ABOVE TASK OR ADDITIONAL TASK THAT WOULD PREVENT WORK
BEING DELAYED OR COMPLETED BEFORE DRILL CREW IS ON SITE TO
PERFORM WORK
2. Crew Supervision
Lead and supervise the drill crew (drill operator, locator, and laborers).
Assign daily tasks and monitor performance, ensuring efficiency and safety on site.
Provide direction and problem-solving for drilling challenges, obstructions, or ground
condition changes.
Ensure timecards, production logs, and site documentation are completed accurately each
day.
Insure all cleanup of job sites is performed.
3. Safety Compliance
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards on all job sites.
Conduct daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and tailgate safety meetings.
Verify underground locates are marked and valid before drilling begins.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work zone to protect employees, the public, and
property.
4. Equipment Maintenance
Inspect drill rigs, vacuum excavators, and support trucks daily for safe operation.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs with mechanics or vendors.
Track equipment hours, usage, and fuel logs.
Ensure all tools, materials, and fluids are properly stored and accounted for.
5. Quality Control Documentation
Verify bore paths, depths, and alignments meet plan specifications.
Oversee accurate as-built measurements and bore logs for client documentation.
Report progress and any field changes to management promptly.
Ensure restoration and cleanup are completed per contract requirements.
6. Communication Customer Relations
Serve as the primary field contact for clients, inspectors, and property owners.
Handle any on-site issues professionally and maintain positive relationships.
Communicate progress updates and any schedule or scope changes to management.
7. Training Leadership
Train new crew members on drilling procedures, safety, and company expectations.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture.
Encourage skill development and cross-training among crew members.
