The Safety Manager Plans, directs and manages all safety activities performed at Twin Rivers Technologies, Quincy, MA, with direction from Corporate Management. Is an active presence in the manufacturing environment promoting a strong safety culture. Complies with Twin Rivers Technologies (TRT) Core Values (STRIVE and CARE) and encourages appropriate behaviors to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The Safety Manager interfaces with all employees and site visitors regarding plant safety matters, compliance and concerns
Responsibilities
Provide EHS leadership and support for TRT.
Provide direction, accountability and responsiveness from senior management and Department Managers.
Strengthen organizational EHS culture through employee engagement, ownership, accountability and behavior-based safety efforts; support process improvement initiatives.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills as a member of the management team.
Conduct compliance audits and reviews necessary to meet company and local compliance requirements to reduce risk liability.
Implement and oversee execution of TRT EHS programs / processes to attain full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Drive EHS compliance through training, audits, process/equipment review and proactive risk elimination.
Institute site injury prevention program to include hazard analysis, JSA, incident / accident investigations, trend analysis, etc.
Work closely with functional departments to coordinate activities in their respective areas.
Maintain and promote good working relationships with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies, as needed.
Provide communication to ensure understanding and compliance for all EHS processes. Conducts Safety Training Programs and maintains all records as needed. Serve as a training resource for TRT’s Safety classroom and electronic training. Provides the leadership to develop and implement site-specific training, programs, plans and procedures for meeting and exceeding Company Safety (EHS) performance goals.
Qualifications
Four-year degree (BS/BA) in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science/Studies, or other applicable field.
Ten years of EHS experience in industrial setting, regulatory agency, or combination thereof.
Demonstrated ability to create and execute safety programs that engage employees and enable a safe work culture.
