Overview

Humboldt Golf & Country Club is seeking a motivated, experienced Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomy operations.

Our club will be regrassing all greens with TifEagle Bermuda in Spring 2026 , and we are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience managing greens renovation projects and grow-ins of hybrid Bermuda putting surfaces .

Humboldt Golf & Country Club, located in Humboldt, TN, is an 18-hole private member-owned facility established in 1926. The club has approximately 400 members and is located about 10 miles north of Jackson and Interstate 40. The 6730-yard championship course winds through trees and creeks with elevation changes, offering a view of Western Tennessee farmland. The clubhouse features a banquet room, bar & grill, patio and fire pit, mens and womens locker rooms, and a swimming pool.

Humboldt Golf & Country Club is home to the Union University Men's and Women's Golf Teams, and is the founding home of the West Tennessee Junior Golf Association.

Humboldt, Tennessee, is a thriving small town in West Tennessee with a low cost of living, restaurants and shops, local boutiques, and a strong community volunteer spirit.

Responsibilities

• Planning and executing the upcoming greens regrassing and grow-in project
• Overseeing daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, and irrigation systems
• Managing agronomic programs, budgeting, and staff scheduling
• Ensuring top playing conditions and course presentation year-round
• Overseeing the management, development, and performance of the golf course maintenance operations
• Coordinating the development of operating and capital budgets; monitoring and implementing corrective measures as needed, and reporting status on a monthly basis
• Providing the highest level of service and interaction with guests to ensure an overall pleasant experience
• Coordinating with the General Manager and other department heads to ensure that communication of golf course operations is in line with the vision of the Board of Directors
• Enforcing all rules and regulations governing golf course usage
• Maintaining and promoting a positive professional image within the community

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
• An Associate or Bachelors degree in Agronomy or Sports Turf
• Proven success with hybrid Bermuda greens renovation or grow-in
• Strong agronomic knowledge and leadership skills
• Tennessee pesticide license (or ability to obtain)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills required to interact with members on a regular basis
• Excellent business management, accounting, and computer skills
• Minimum of 3+ years of golf management experience
• Proven record of developing, promoting, and expanding all golf activities
• Proven record of providing superior member service and staff training and development
• Strong work ethic
• This is a year-round position and will begin as soon as possible after the hiring process is complete
