Food and Beverage Distribution Center Branch Manager

SUMMARY: The Branch Manager of a Distribution Center is the site leader, overseeing all associates, day-to-day operations, and the full site P&L. Our wholesale distribution centers are typically high-volume multi-temperature zone food grade facilities. The role requires a combination of frontline hands-on leadership as well as the ability to step back and ensure proper processes and technology are in place to drive consistent and efficient results. Recruiting, training, accountability and development of staff are critical to success. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in creating a culture of safety, efficiency, on time/in-full delivery and continuous improvement within their scope of responsibility.
As a Branch Manager in Training, you will embark on a development journey, working closely with a current Branch Manager to learn our business model. This mentorship program will equip you with the necessary knowledge and experience to excel as a Distribution Center Branch Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following responsibilities will be expected and expanded as you grow within the organization:
Direct responsibility for P&L results and KPIs
Successfully recruit team members to maintain staffing levels based on labor planning model
Execute effective training and development programs to retain and grow talent
Maintain a safe work environment
Regularly engage front line associates to ensure a full understanding of existing opportunities and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement
Ensure operational processes are efficient and regularly audited to validate consistent execution
Address technical system challenges by identifying root causes and implementing effective resolutions
Monitor DC objectives and lead targeted improvement initiatives to delivery enhanced results
Scrutinize weekly labor plan and detailed metrics to hold team accountable for performance
Relentlessly pursue on-time/in-full delivery to exceed expectations
Maximize outbound truck weights, enhancing transportation efficiency.
Maintain best in class inventory accuracy and minimize shrink
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field is required.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in directly managing a company owned distribution center.
Proven success in:
Leading and developing high performing teams.
Establishing efficient processes to deliver best in class business results.
Creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Prior experience with food distribution is preferred.
