Cypress Creek Farm, a ten-acre operation established in 2012, embodies sustainable farming practices and supports the culinary and educational experiences at Miraval Austin. The farm features an equine program, vegetable production, a free-range chicken coop, an apiary, goats, and microgreen cultivation. It utilizes organic and permaculture principles to nurture soil health while showcasing mindful land stewardship.

Qualifications
Farm Hand – Role Overview
As a Farm Hand, you’ll be essential in executing daily operations, maintaining the farm’s aesthetics, and supporting its agricultural production goals. You’ll also engage with guests through tours and hands-on programs, offering educational insights into sustainable farming and animal husbandry.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Crop Production and Maintenance:
- Plant, cultivate, water, fertilize, weed, harvest, and package crops.
- Propagate and prune perennial crops, and mix soil for greenhouse transplants.
- Scout and report disease, weed, or pest pressures.
- Animal Care:
- Care for poultry and goats, including feeding, cleaning pens/coops, and sanitizing equipment.
- Lead programs on animal care, such as the chicken lifecycle.
- Cross train to learn skills to support our herd of horses and equine programming
- Farm Infrastructure and Equipment Operation:
- Operate and maintain tractors, tools, and irrigation systems (training provided).
- Perform general repairs, including construction and basic plumbing or electrical work.
- Guest Engagement and Education:
- Lead tours and workshops on permaculture, pest management, and organic farming.
- Landscape Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain garden beds, lawns, brush, weeds, roads and paths.
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Check and response to email and Teams messages every shift
- Willingness to learn and support other areas of Integrative Wellbeing and resort as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in farming or agriculture.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, and electrical work is a plus.
