Job Description

Position Overview: The Director of Development will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to secure funding and build relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners. This role involves overseeing all aspects of fundraising, including campaigns, grant writing, and donor engagement, while working closely with the executive team and board of directors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive development strategy to meet organizational goals and financial targets.
  • Donor Cultivation: Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with major donors, sponsors, and partners. Enhance donor engagement through personalized communication and stewardship.
  • Campaign Management: Plan and lead major fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, capital campaigns, and special events.
  • Grant Writing and Management: Research grant opportunities, write and submit proposals, and manage relationships with grant-making organizations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support the development team, including setting goals, providing mentorship, and ensuring effective performance.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and analyze fundraising performance, prepare reports for stakeholders, and adjust strategies based on outcomes and feedback.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team and board of directors to align development efforts with organizational priorities and goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in development or fundraising, with a proven track record of successful campaigns and donor relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Experience in grant writing and managing grants.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency with fundraising software and database management.
