Under general supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty managing the non-judicial functions of the Justice Courts; performs related work as assigned.Note: The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually Typical Duties(Illustrative Only)Manages the non-judicial functions of the Justice Courts in Coconino CountyPlans, directs, supervises, and coordinates administrative support functionsDevelops, monitors and administers the Justice Courts budgetsHires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines staffDevelops and implements policies, procedures and rulesCoordinates with the Courts, elected and appointed officials, outside agencies, and the publicAccesses data management systems to provide pertinent information to judges, staff and outside agencies when requiredPrepares and maintains records and reports to comply with local and state requirementsSubmits and administers grants and their reporting requirementsPlans, manages and performs special projects as requestedActs as Court Administrator in that person's absenceOther duties as assignedEssential functions include but are not limited to: sitting; working with and around others, working with interruptions, repetitive motion (hand/wrist, elbow/shoulder) for computer work; vision acuity (near/far) for computer work and to see customers; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation and speaking with co-workers and customers via telephone and in person; touch/finger dexterity for typing and data entry. Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and three years of progressively responsible administrative or supervisory experience in a judicial environment; ORAssociate degree and four years of progressively responsible administrative or supervisory experience in a judicial environment; ORFive years of progressively responsible administrative or supervisory experience in a judicial environment; OR Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in public administration, criminal justice or a related field. Completed the Fellowship Program from the Institute for Court Management. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must pass national fingerprint background check.The Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess initiative, follow through and dedication. The candidate will have experience with preparing, presenting and managing budgets. The ideal candidate will have experience collecting data, performing legal research and analyzing the information. The candidate will have previous judicial or court related experience. This is an At-Will position.This position is exempt from overtime.Note: Individuals in exempt classifications as part time employees may be classified as non-exempt per FLSA law regarding minimum weekly salary requirements.
