Contract Tax Return Reviewer (CPA or EA) – Seasonal, Remote – $50–$100/hr

Are you a CPA or experienced EA seeking flexible, seasonal contract work? Join our established CPA firm in Downers Grove, Illinois, and help review tax returns during the busy 2026 tax season (February through mid-April).

What You’ll Do:

• Review and finalize complex Federal, State, and Local income tax returns (individuals, partnerships, C-Corps, S-Corps)
• Ensure compliance and accuracy for every return
• Advise tax preparers and answer tax-related questions
• Assist with calculations for estimated payments and extensions
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electronically filed returns
• Research accounting and tax matters as needed
• Communicate clearly with clients and team members
• Report to the Managing Partner or Partner

What We’re Looking For:

• Active CPA or EA license
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 10+ years’ experience in tax return preparation and review
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft 365, UltraTax (or similar tax software), and paperless office environments
• Ability to work remotely
• Commitment to client confidentiality and exceptional service

Compensation & Details:

• $50–$100 per hour, based on experience
• Contract position for the 2026 tax season
• Flexible remote work options
