Right now, Dalco Athletics is running a pilot program to hire people who did not complete high school and are looking to work in a steady job while they complete their education. We expect to attract a lot of people with this program, and as their Coach/Mentor you will have a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in our employees’ educational and career development journey. We are looking for someone who is energetic and able to provide solid mentorship to employees while they complete their GEDs in the afternoons after work.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• The Coach/Mentor will work with 5-15 students at a time.
• Conduct student assessments in order to set a baseline for growth and a starting point for service provision.
• Establish a service plan with newly arrived employees; provide mentoring, guidance, and psychosocial support to aid clients in reaching educational goals
• Facilitate activities to teach positive coping mechanisms.
• Track grades and attendance, advocate for and connect clients to relevant resources such as counselors, coaches, tutoring programs and extra-curricular activities.
• Invite and encourage clients to attend group activities.
• Collaborate with external organizations and internal departments to connect students to necessary resources through referrals.
• Provide guidance on study practices and homework completion to help clients succeed academically.
• Maintain comprehensive case notes, update case files, and regularly update service

plans to respond to clients’ academic, material, and case management needs.

This is a part-time position with 20-30 hours per week, mostly in the afternoons. If you are passionate about helping others succeed, we would love to hear from you.
