About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) to lead its high-functioning club community. The successful candidate will be a consummate leader, embodying the values of diplomacy, hands-on mentorship, and a charismatic, interactive approach. This role is pivotal in continuing to elevate the experiences of both members and staff within the club. The GM/COO will work closely with the Board of Directors, actively engage with various committees, and be the face of the club, ensuring the delivery of personalized service and a culture of support and collegiality. A key aspect of the role is to understand the unique nature of residential community clubs, placing members and residents first, and fostering a foundation of staff support and mentorship. Candidates for the GM/COO position at the company should have a minimum of 7-10 years' progressive leadership experience, preferably in a private member-owned country club or a similar multi-dimensional hospitality operation. A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management is preferred, and industry certifications such as CCM, CCE, or PGA are encouraged. The role requires a leader with a deep knowledge of active club and community operations, strong financial acumen, and a proven track record in talent development and strategic planning. The GM/COO will be responsible for managing all operational matters, guiding the club's financial model, and ensuring the seamless delivery of quality experiences. Attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to manage expectations through dynamic leadership are essential. The initial priorities for the role include building trust with members, engaging with the team, and developing a comprehensive 'State of the Club' analysis to outline short- and long-term goals.
