Chemistry Lab Technician to support their Analytical Chemistry team with sample prep and day-to-day lab work.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $25/hr - $30/hr
Position Overview: The Chemistry Lab Technician will assist with preparing samples, checking pH levels, and performing other hands-on lab tasks. This 6-month contract role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys detailed work and wants more experience in a chemistry lab.
Responsibilities of the Chemistry Lab Technician: - Prepare, weigh, and label samples for testing.
- Use pH meters, micro pipettes, and other basic lab tools.
- Follow written procedures to make sure samples are handled correctly.
- Recognize when an error occurs and alert the supervisor.
- Keep the lab space clean, organized, and safe.
- Work closely with Scientists and other lab team members.
Required Experience/Skills for the Chemistry Lab Technician: - Some experience working in a professional lab environment.
- The Chemistry Lab Technician should have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to stay organized and focused during repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable asking questions and following directions.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Chemistry Lab Technician: - Experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or environmental science labs.
- Familiarity with pH meters, micropipettes, and sample prep work.
- Interest in analytical chemistry and learning from experienced scientists.
- Experience working in a fast-paced lab.
Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
