The Centralized Services Engineer will manage application maintenance and support, focusing on the transition from R&D to production as a large part of their responsibilities. This role includes overseeing a variety of tasks to ensure that our application stack is well documented, maintained, and improved as our business goals evolve to serve the needs of our customers. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Monitoring application and performance health & implement performance tuning measures to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Manage the deployment of updates and patches, and coordinate application changes with relevant teams. (Service Delivery, Business Admin, Sales, and Leadership) 
  • Facilitate the transition of applications from R&D to production, and ensure all necessary documentation, training, and support materials are provided by R&D. 
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex application issues and assist end-users and other support teams with application-related questions. 
  • Maintain and support application environments (development, staging, production), and ensure environments are up-to-date and consistent. Coordinating with the IT team for any requirements needed for proper performance and monitoring. 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for applications and support procedures, and develop knowledge base articles for common issues and troubleshooting steps. 
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to understand application architecture and functionality and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding application status and issues.
  • Maintain the feedback loop as identified in the hand-off process and identify opportunities for improving application support processes.
  • Implement best practices for application maintenance and support. 
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures for applications and ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups.

Skills and Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of network experience 
  • Linux Experience 
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking 
  • Previous experience with monitoring and ticketing platforms 
  • Previous experience working in a Managed Services environment preferred 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills 
  • Customer Service mindset
