We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced engineering team. This role will be pivotal in driving our data-driven decision-making capabilities across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, data modeling, and ETL development. They will be responsible for creating and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. This is a unique opportunity to influence the strategic and operational direction of our company, and to make a significant impact on our success.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, build, and deploy BI solutions using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
2. Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
3. Conduct troubleshooting on our BI models.
4. Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
5. Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
6. Develop and update technical documentation.
7. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.
8. Develop and execute ETL packages.
9. Translate business needs to technical specifications.
10. Secure sensitive data according to best practices.
11. Work closely with stakeholders to identify and gather requirements.
12. Develop and manage BI solutions.
13. Provide ad hoc reporting and analyses as required.
14. Use ADF for complex data migration tasks, and to transform and load data.
15. Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
16. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a BI Engineer or similar role.
3. Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field.
4. Solid experience in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.
5. In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
6. Proficient in SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
7. Demonstrable experience with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI).
8. Experience with Tableau, QlikView, or similar BI technology.
9. Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
10. Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
11. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
