Job Description

Behavioral Scientist/Social Scientist

Seeking an experienced Behavioral Scientist for our insider threat operational requirements on a mission-focused program within a challenging, dynamic setting located in downtown Washington DC. The successful candidate will conduct behavioral research and assessments to inform the development of insider threat and security policies within a government agency. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, pilot studies, surveys, case studies, and program evaluations; developing metrics; analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; and managing research projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide psychological services, participate in meetings and briefings for mission-related initiatives.
  2. Prepare and conduct behavioral assessments.
  3. Identify key personality traits, sources of influence, strengths, and vulnerabilities of sources.
  4. Manage and test sources, integrating background and personality knowledge into formal assessments.
  5. Make recommendations in challenging or emergency situations to support decision-making.
  6. Assess source integrity and competence based on behavior.

Requirements

  • Maintain a security clearance.
  • Work independently, develop project timelines, lead meetings and briefings.
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis.
  • Ability to produce formal operational/behavioral assessments.
  • Experience with source and case file management, including vetting tools.
  • Assess psychological strengths and vulnerabilities of sources.
  • Collaborate with analysts for psychological assessments based on human factors.
  • Excellent writing and briefing skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple IC agencies.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in behavioral psychology or social sciences, with 10-13 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of counterintelligence, personnel security, or insider threats.
  • PhD in Psychology, Social Science, or Behavioral Science.
