Job Description

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support K-12 students during the upcoming school year in Renton, WA. This contract position involves providing clear and accurate sign language interpretation to ensure effective communication between students, teachers, and staff within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to facilitate classroom instruction and communication
• Collaborate with educators, students, and families to support individual learning needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism according to school policies
• Assist in school-related events and meetings as needed to provide interpretation services
• Stay current with best practices in sign language interpretation and educational support

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficient in sign language interpretation with demonstrated experience in educational settings
• Knowledge of K-12 curriculum and classroom environment preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Relevant certification or licensure in sign language interpretation is highly desirable
