ROLE: ACCESSORIES DESIGNER
The ideal candidate will be a highly creative problem solver who brings engagement and curiosity to work across multiple platforms and a variety of product types. This person will be focused on elevating the consumer experience by delivering creative solutions across a variety of products including scarves, hats, bags, jewelry, belts, and sunglasses - while driving an emotional connection to the Ruti brand.
This role requires passion and creativity, along with versatility and focus to see designs through the product creation process. This designer is a dedicated team player that knows how to collaborate, receive feedback, and manage multiple projects at any given time. This designer can also translate complex insights into authentic narratives and create compelling solutions that will help define the future of Ruti Accessories.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in product design or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training
• 3+ years or more of accessory or product design experience at an in-house setting
• Passion and understanding of current and emerging design trends and visual culture
• Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple, competing priorities
• Strong visual and verbal communication skills, able to effectively present design intent to internal and external audiences
• Drawing, sketching 2D and 3D capability or ability to learn
• Proficient in Illustrator and Google Suite
• Experience in Photoshop
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally if required
• Passion for the fashion industry and understanding of the landscape
• Passion for design, strategic thinking, and curiosity
• Demonstrate a strong aesthetic and high taste level with a deep understanding of the Ruti look
• Ability to study high fashion, research and distill trends then translate them into viable solutions that drive profitable business results
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with Ruti and the senior designer to conceptualize and design accessories that fit within each collection’s story and are in line with the Ruti aesthetic
• Work closely with the production manager and planner to ensure the collection meets the needs of the business
• Work closely with vendors and the production team to develop, fit, and execute samples from concept to market
• Research trends and propose viable design ideas for each product category within the accessories category
• Correspond with vendors to develop materials, trims, fabrics, products
• Review and strictly adhere to calendar deadlines
• Develop and update linesheets as needed
